In honour of Ringo’s milestone birthday and lifelong advocacy for peace, The Beatles Story unveiled the UK’s first and only Ringo Starr Peace and Love Sculpture. The sculpture, created using an original casting of Ringo’s right hand, symbolically and quite literally shows that Ringo had a hand in spreading peace. Each piece is handcrafted by seasoned artisans, blending artistic craftsmanship with heartfelt meaning to create a lasting emblem of positivity.

In honor of Ringo Starr’s 85th trip around the sun, I’d like to share this rare image from my archives, in which Ringo encounters Batman in Liverpool! It’s an unused drawing, courtesy of Heinz Edelmann, the designer of the Beatles’ 1968 film, Yellow Submarine, and was created early on during the production of the film. Batmania was still in full swing (pun absolutely intended!) when this drawing was done, probably in the latter half of 1967, so it’s not surprising that Edelmann would have thought of incorporating the Caped Crusader into the scene where Ringo is wandering around Liverpool, followed by Captain Fred in the sub.

Cavern City Tours reports ‘remarkable’ annual profits - Liverpool Business News

Despite catering for what it describes an “ageing clientele”, Cavern City Tours is doing so well it has just been placed seventh on a list of the 50 fastest-growing companies in the North West with its brand now valued at more than £40m.

It has just published its annual accounts for the 12 months to September 30, 2024. They show revenues of more than £11.6m, up from £10.5m in 2023. It described its pre-tax profits as “remarkable”, rising to just under £3m from £2.5m last year.

These results mean current shareholders George Guinness and one of the original founders, Bill Heckle, will share a bumper dividend of £1.5m.

One morning when Kathei Logue was a mere 14 years old, she rose from her bed at her home in the South Shore town of Avon and quickly got dressed. She rode a bus headed toward the old Hotel Madison in Boston where hundreds of girls were already gathered. She sneaked past security with a phony press pass and spent the day with British pop royalty, the Beatles.

While talking to fans during a Q&A session at Glastonbury Festival's Pilton Palais cinema, Paul said, "We're having a great time. I honestly think it's funny when actors go into band camp. We're like, 'Are we actually kind of good at this?!'"

The Normal People star added, "It's my first time working with Harris and Barry and I've worked with Joe before, and we're having a great time. You'll be waiting a long [time] - it's not going to be out for two years but we're having fun. We've got four to make."
