John and Yoko Film 'One to One' Picked Up for Distribution - Imax Release and Streaming Announced

Magnolia Pictures has picked up U.S. distribution rights for the new documentary "One to One: John & Yoko" and plans an April 11 release for the film exclusively on Imax screens. The film also is set to start streaming on Max later this year. Via Deadline : The docu is a revelatory look at the 18 months John Lennon and Yoko Ono spent living in Greenwich Village in the early 1970s with never-before-seen material and newly restored footage of Lennon’s only full-length, post-Beatles concert. Sean Ono Lennon, the couple’s son, oversaw the audio remastering of the concert in the pic. On August 30, 1972, in New York City, John Lennon played his only full-length show after leaving the Beatles: the One to One benefit concert at Madison Square Garden. It’s the starting in Oscar winner Macdonald’s doc into the lives of John and Yoko. By 1971 the couple was newly arrived in the U.S. — living in a tiny apartment in Greenwich Village and watching a huge amount of American television....

Beatles in the News: Zak at the Cavern, 'Eleanor Rigy' for Parkinson's Charity LP and a Comic Book World Where the Fabs Never Broke Up

Zak Starkey, Ringo's son, said playing Liverpool's Cavern Club last week was "surreal." Via the Liverpool Echo: Zak, who has also been part of Liverpool bands the Lightning Seeds and the Icicle Works, brought his supergroup Mantra of the Cosmos to Liverpool for two gigs at the Cavern on Sunday. Made up of Shaun Ryder (Happy Mondays), Zak, Andy Bell (Oasis, Ride) and Bez (Happy Mondays), the band's new single 'Domino Bones (Gets Dangerous)', which features Noel Gallagher, was released exclusively at the Cavern. Zak told the ECHO: "It was very surreal. I was s***ting it - proper s***ting it until I got on there and it was amazing.
