From the Liverpool Echo : A music fan has clinched the former home of John Lennon 's mother in south Liverpool. The property on Blomfield Road went under the hammer yesterday (Monday, September 26) with a guide price of £250,000. Omega Auctions confirmed the sale price, including premiums, was £279,500. According to a recap from Billboard : Each show featured Starr welcoming a star-studded lineup of his fellow music luminaries, including Sheryl Crow, Jack White, Emmylou Harris, Rodney Crowell, The War and Treaty, Jamey Johnson, Billy Strings, Molly Tuttle, Mickey Guyton, Sarah Jarosz and Larkin Poe. Len Garry, Member of Pre-Beatles Group the Quarrymen, Dead at age 84

Len Garry, standing between Paul and John The Liverpool Echo reports the death today of Quarrymen Len Garry: The Quarrymen star, who played alongside John Lennon and Paul McCartney in the band which would later evolve into the Beatles, was recently diagnosed with pneumonia after being admitted to the Royal Liverpool Hospital following a suspected chest infection. His daughter Jane Garry confirmed the musician's death in a statement this morning. Announcing the news, she said: "My Dad 'Len Garry' passed away at home in the early hours this morning. "The doctor told us he had hours to live and I said straight away 'he has to come home.' Which the doctor allowed.
