From the Liverpool Echo : A music fan has clinched the former home of John Lennon 's mother in south Liverpool. The property on Blomfield Road went under the hammer yesterday (Monday, September 26) with a guide price of £250,000. Omega Auctions confirmed the sale price, including premiums, was £279,500. The property went to a 'UK buyer who is a big Beatles fan'. Omega previously sold George Harrison's childhood home for £160,000 in a process it said gathered "worldwide interest". Two Pauls: McCartney and Mescal Spotted Together in London

The Daily Mirror reports on Paul McCartney and his Beatles biopic doppleganger Paul Mescal visiting together at a London cafe over the weekend: Paul Mescal paused filming for the new The Beatles biopic to meet with Sir Paul McCartney, who he plays in the movie. The Irish star in recent weeks has been seen filming the Sam Mendes biopic in Liverpool, where Macca and his bandmates grew up. But over the weekend, the Gladiator II star was spotted filming a new documentary with Macca in London. The pair appeared to be in good spirits as they walked through the capital together before heading into the Regency Cafe in Westminster. While details about the mystery production are limited, Mescal has made no secret of his excitement to be part of the new biopic. He previously described McCartney as "extraordinary" and "kind".
