Watch the Rolling Stones Play Lennon-McCartney's "I Wanna Be Your Man" in Liverpool

The Rolling Stones played the tune that John Lennon and McCartney wrote for them in their first Liverpool concert since 1971.

John and Paul wrote the song especially for the Stones, who released their version in 1963. It also later appeared on the Fabs' With The Beatles LP as a spotlight vocal for Ringo Starr.

From The Guardian:

[Mick] Jagger initially suggested earlier in their set that the band perform a rendition of You’ll Never Walk Alone, the anthem of the Liverpool football club.

However, the Stones decided to change things up by covering I Wanna Be Your Man from 1963’s With The Beatles.

“We decided instead to do a cover of a song written by some other local lads,” Jagger told the audience. “So we’re doing this especially for you Liverpool, okay?”
