Mary Hopkin plays a gift guitar from George Harrison and talks "Yellow Submarine" and Apple Records on "Opportunity Knocks"

From July 1968, here's Mary Hopkin performing "Turn, Turn, Turn" on the British TV talent show "Opportunity Knocks."

Twiggy, the model and friend to the Beatles, spotted Hopkin performing on an earlier episode of the show and told Paul McCartney about her. In short order, Mary was signed to the Apple label and recording her first single, the huge hit "Those Were the Days."

In this appearance, she's been signed by Apple, her first album is due out soon, she's been invited to the premiere of "The Yellow Submarine" and she's playing a guitar that George Harrison gave her.
