Some shaky video from Ringo's star-studded country show at the Ryman this week. According to a recap from Billboard : Each show featured Starr welcoming a star-studded lineup of his fellow music luminaries, including Sheryl Crow, Jack White, Emmylou Harris, Rodney Crowell, The War and Treaty, Jamey Johnson, Billy Strings, Molly Tuttle, Mickey Guyton, Sarah Jarosz and Larkin Poe. Burnett hosted the show, welcoming artists throughout the evening, as some performances featured artists in collaboration with Starr, while other performances featured the evening’s guest offering solo performances. ...Backing the artists was an ace band of revered musicians that included Mike Rojas, Daniel Tashian, David Mansfield, Dennis Crouch, Paul Franklin and Jim Keltner. John and Yoko Film 'One to One' Picked Up for Distribution - Imax Release and Streaming Announced

Magnolia Pictures has picked up U.S. distribution rights for the new documentary "One to One: John & Yoko" and plans an April 11 release for the film exclusively on Imax screens. The film also is set to start streaming on Max later this year. Via Deadline : The docu is a revelatory look at the 18 months John Lennon and Yoko Ono spent living in Greenwich Village in the early 1970s with never-before-seen material and newly restored footage of Lennon’s only full-length, post-Beatles concert. Sean Ono Lennon, the couple’s son, oversaw the audio remastering of the concert in the pic. On August 30, 1972, in New York City, John Lennon played his only full-length show after leaving the Beatles: the One to One benefit concert at Madison Square Garden. It’s the starting in Oscar winner Macdonald’s doc into the lives of John and Yoko. By 1971 the couple was newly arrived in the U.S. — living in a tiny apartment in Greenwich Village and watching a huge amount of American television....

From a new interview with Paul McCartney in Mojo magazine : Ringo’s new album Look Up is a collection of country songs. What is it about his personality – and singing voice – that is so perfectly suited to country music? He always loved country from the first minute I met him.
