Japan-Exclusive CD Single of Beatles' 'Free As A Bird / Real Love' Available

A CD single of the Beatles' "Free As A Bird / Real Love" is now available in Japan only. The CD, presented in the audiophile SHM format (playable on regular CD players), features the 2025 mixes by Jeff Lynne of "Free as a Bird" and "Real Love," taken from the newly release Anthology 4 compilation. The release includes English liner notes, lyrics with a Japanese translation and a card featuring the 7-inch "Free as a Bird" single's original picture sleeve art by John Lennon. It's available for order via CD Japan .

George Harrison's Childhood Home Opens to Public Tours

George Harrison's childhood home at 25 Upton Green in the Liverpool suburb of Speke is opening to public tours. Via a news release: The childhood home of George Harrison of The Beatles is now open to visitors for the first time through scheduled guided tours. Located at 25 Upton Green in Speke. The home played a formative role in George's life, serving not only as his family residence from 1950 to late 1962 but also as an early rehearsal space for The Beatles in the years before Beatlemania. The experience has been developed and will be delivered by tour guide Dale Roberts, who has spent over a decade sharing Beatles history with visitors from around the world. He became co-owner of the Harrison family home a year ago, after Ken Lambert asked him to come on board as an owner. Ken turned the home into an AirBnB in 2022. Well, as hinted earlier this week, the Beatles are springing a revamped, expanded "Anthology" collection on us, along with a reprint of the "Anthology" book and a return of the "Anthology" video series via streaming. The audio sets are out Nov. 21 . Ordering info on the Beatles official site, which also offers exclusive editions for both box sets that include four 12-inch band photo art cards in a numbered envelope. The video series , now expanded with an extra episode, streams from Nov. 29 on Disney+ . And the book , which is in paperback only and appears to have a new cover wrap but the same contents, is out Oct. 14 . A proposed law by the European Union would prohibit product labels such as “veggie burger” or “vegan sausage” and Paul McCartney thinks it's dumb. “To stipulate that burgers and sausages are ‘plant-based,’ ‘vegetarian’ or ‘vegan’ should be enough for sensible people to understand what they are eating,” Paul told The Times of London. “This also encourages attitudes essential to our health and that of the planet.” More here .
