A new GQ interview with bluegrass star Billy Strings reveals some new details about Ringo's long-awaited new country album, evidently due out in January under the title Look Up . Details: In the last few months alone, [Strings] played on tracks by Post Malone, Margo Price, and Amythyst Kiah; alongside an elite crew of Nashville aces, he just cut an entire record with Ringo Starr and T-Bone Burnett, Look Up , that’s due in January.

A new interview with Ringo in Variety offers more detail on his upcoming country album, Look Up , produced by T Bone Burnett, along with a TV special stemming from the LP, along with Ringo's take on the upcoming "Beatles '64" film coming to Disney+ on Nov. 29. Some highlights: “[Look Up is] a great mixed bag,” Starr says, “and the people we have on it — Molly Tuttle, mainly, and Billy Strings — are young old-style country, in a way, you know what I mean?” The featured guests are Strings, Tuttle, the sister duo Larkin Poe, another female duo, Lucius, and, on the closing track, Allison Krauss — all making substantial contributions, even though only one of the tunes, with Tuttle, is a full-on duet. From the news release: (October 18, 2024 – Nashville, TN) Ringo Starr will release a brand-new country music album, Look Up, produced and co-written by T Bone Burnett, on January 10, 2025. This stunning collection features 11 original songs, recorded this year in Nashville and Los Angeles. The track “Time On My Hands” is available to stream today. Nine of the 11 songs on Look Up were written or co-written by Burnett, one by Billy Swan and the other co-written by Starr and Bruce Sugar. Starr sang and played drums on all the songs and co-wrote the album’s closer, “Thankful,” featuring Alison Krauss. Burnett enlisted some of Nashville’s finest and hottest talent for the record, including Billy Strings, Larkin Poe, Lucius, Molly Tuttle and the aforementioned Krauss. Remembering "Decker's Dash" - when young musician rushed Beatles' jet in Winnipeg

The Winnipeg Free Press recalls one fan's mad dash to meet his idols during the Beatles' Aug. 18, 1964, stopover in Winnipeg. The band was en route from London to San Francisco to begin their first U.S. tour. Police nabbed 17-year-old Bruce Decker before he reached the band, but the Beatles did witness the episode, photographs of which made the front pages the following day. The visit lasted no more than 25 minutes before the band was back on the plane and on its way. But not before 17-year-old Silver Heights Collegiate student Bruce Decker bolted past security and up the stairs where the Beatles had just been standing. Nabbed and carried off by two Mounties before he could meet his heroes, Decker became an instant celebrity to the cheering teen crowd.
