'Now and Then' is Coming! But When?: Beatles' Social Media Teases Upcoming Release of New Track

We must be getting closer to the release of what Paul and Ringo have termed the "final Beatles single."

The band's official channels today posted the above image of a cassette, alluding to the John Lennon demo they've updated to include contributions from all four band members — including Lennon's vocal from his original cassette recording and guitar by George Harrison.

George's contributions were recorded during sessions for the 1990s Beatles Anthology releases, which saw McCartney, Starr and Harrison create new Beatles songs using Lennon's demos for "Free as a Bird" and "Real Love."

The new song is believed to be Lennon's "Now and Then," which was considered as a release by the Threetles for Anthology, but vetoed due to the poor quality of Lennon's original recording. Now, with improved technology, Paul and Ringo say the results are much better.

The song, as has been assumed by some in the media and on social channels, does not feature a fake Lennon voice created by A.I. The technology was merely used to improve the quality of the original tape.

When can we/hear buy it? Stay tuned.
