The new Record Store Day release list is out today and includes a few interesting Beatles-related items detailed below. RSD will be April 12. John & Yoko, The Plastic Ono Band, Elephant's Memory - Power To The People - Live at the One-To-One Concert, New York City, 1972 On August 30, 1972, John Lennon and Yoko Ono, along with the Plastic Ono Band, Elephant’s Memory, and special guests, headlined two historic One to One Benefit Concerts at Madison Square Garden in New York City. These performances, held before a combined audience of 40,000 people, raised over $1.5 million to support schoolchildren with special needs. These were John Lennon’s final and only full-length solo concerts after leaving The Beatles. Produced by Sean Ono Lennon and mixed and engineered from the original tapes by Paul Hicks and Sam Gannon, this extremely limited-edition EP features four tracks from the afternoon and evening concerts, including three previously unreleased performances. Beatles Win 'Best Rock Performance Award' at Grammys for 'Now and Then' - Watch Sean Lennon's Acceptance Speech

The Beatles last night picked up their first Grammy Award since 1997 for their completed version of John Lennon's 'Now and Then.' The award was accepted on behalf the band by Lennon's son Sean. The song, which stemmed from an unfinished John Lennon demo, featured parts added by his fellow three Beatles in the 1990s and was finally completed with new instrumental and vocal parts added by Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr and a string section in 2022. The tune was released as the "final" Beatles single in November 2023. The tune won in the 'Best Rock Performance' category, where it beat out songs by the Black Keys, Green Day, Idles, Pearl Jam and St. Vincent. It also was nominated in the "Record of the Year" category alongside songs by Beyoncé, Sabrina Carpenter, Charli XCX, Billie Eilish, Chappell Roan and Taylor Swift, but lost out to "Not Like Us" by Kendrick Lamar. Lennon Estate Approves John Lennon Model Framus 12-string 'Hootenanny' Guitar

John Lennon's 12-string Framus "Hootenanny" guitar, heard on such Beatles tracks as "Help!" and "Norwegian Wood," sold for $2.8 million last year. Now players/collectors will be able to get a far more affordable version of their own. Via Guitar World : German luthier Framus has reissued its Hootenanny 12-string acoustic guitar, made famous by John Lennon 60 years ago. ...Recreating the guitar for a market release was no small feat.
