Beatles Release White Vinyl Reissue of 'A Hard Day's Night' for LP's 60th Anniversary

Something else not really new from the Beatles: Details: Today, The Beatles have announced a special 60th anniversary reissue of their third studio album A Hard Day’s Night, in celebration of National Album Day. The limited edition reissue on 180g White Vinyl will be released on October 19th. At a time when popstars either spoke BBC English or tried to emulate the American rockers they so idolised, there was no hiding where The Beatles – John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison & Ringo Starr – came from: they sang, as they spoke, in a Liverpool accent. Although the demands of the music business meant they soon had to relocate to London, in many ways they never left their city – in song and in story, the group are inextricably, indelibly linked to Merseyside. Recorded between January and June 1964 and released that July, if ever there was a pointer to what an album could achieve, it's the 13 songs and 31 minutes of A Hard Day's Night, the third long-player by the Beatles

An unexpected Fabs cover that's pretty great, IMO. More info on Williams' Beatles covers LP from JamBase : For her first Lu’s Jukebox in four years, Williams takes aim at The Beatles catalog. Upping the ante, she recorded the covers album at the studio The Fab Four made famous, London’s Abbey Road. Williams also puts a stamp on history as the first major artist to record Beatles songs in the space where John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr recorded nearly all of their albums, then called EMI Studios. The Beatles named their final recorded album after the street EMI was on, Abbey Road, and shot the record’s iconic cover on the Abbey Road crossing. The name of the recording facility was changed to Abbey Road in 1976. Williams tackles both Beatles classics (“Can’t Buy Me Love,” “With A Little Help From My Friends,” “Something”) and deeper cuts (“I’m So Tired,” “I’ve Got A Feeling,” “Yer Blues”) on the 12-track record.

A new GQ interview with bluegrass star Billy Strings reveals some new details about Ringo's long-awaited new country album, evidently due out in January under the title Look Up . Details: In the last few months alone, [Strings] played on tracks by Post Malone, Margo Price, and Amythyst Kiah; alongside an elite crew of Nashville aces, he just cut an entire record with Ringo Starr and T-Bone Burnett, Look Up , that’s due in January.
