'The Third Eye': Collection of George Harrison's Beatles-era Photos On the Way

Following in the footsteps of books collecting the Beatles-era photos of Ringo Starr and Paul McCartney, a book collecting George Harrison's Fab pics is now on the way. Details via The Associated Press : A book of Beatles -era photographs taken by George Harrison, many of them never published, will be released next year. Random House announced Thursday that “The Third Eye,” which includes more than 250 black and white and color images, is scheduled for Fall 2026. Harrison’s widow, Olivia Harrison, compiled and curated the book, which covers the years 1963-69 and includes photos of the Beatles everywhere from their native Liverpool to India to Shea Stadium. “I want to show people, from George’s unique photographic perspective during the Beatles’ early years, the moments when the whole of your life is ahead of you with unknowable possibilities,” Olivia Harrison said of her late husband, who died in 2001, in a statement released by Random House. “His images in ‘The Third Eye’ capture ...

Via a new interview with Guitar World : What’s the status of the Concert for Bangladesh reissue? “We’ve got the audio done. It’s a blinder of an album. We also have the whole second show, which no-one’s heard before. But we don’t want to mix everything up and just put version after version of the same songs, because you lose perspective, and it ruins the listening experience. “I’d rather hear the demo version from start to finish, then go on to the real version from start to finish, then the Day Two version from start to finish. “We’ve started working on the film, using the same [AI-driven] algorithm Peter Jackson used on Get Back . We’re working with Peter on restoring it, which takes a long time. It takes years to finish these projects. And that’s with me trying to have my own career as well, in the meantime.”

Artifact: "Murray the K Comes on Monday" sign created by John Lennon

Via Heritage Auctions : An incredible, one-of-a-kind artifact from an event that defined the 1960s, with John Lennon at its center. Here is an actual hand-made sign from the Montreal Bed-In For Peace, reading "MURRAY THE K COMES ON MONDAY," boldly signed and dated at the event by John and Yoko Ono, and made especially notable for the mention of famous American radio personality "Murray The K" Kaufman. This sign was affixed to the wall of the Montreal hotel suite, to the left of the bed (John's side), and appears prominently in photographic and video records of the event, including the film of the recording of "Give Peace A Chance", where the sign can be seen directly between John and Tommy Smothers as they play their guitars.
