Singer Trini Lopez dies - billed with the Beatles in Paris, 1964

Texas musician Trini Lopez, famed for his hit versions of "If I Had a Hammer" and "Lemon Tree," died yesterday of COVID-19 complications at age 83.

Lopez appeared on the same bill as the Beatles and French singer Sylvie Vartan during an 18-day run of concerts at the Olympia Theater in Paris in 1964, shortly before the Beatles made their first trip to the U.S.
