Artifact: George Harrison / Apple Records signed check 1971

Up for bid at Heritage Auctions.

Dated May 1971 - six months after the release of his tour de force first post-Beatles solo album All Things Must Pass - this check comes from a great period for George Harrison. The album would spend multiple weeks at the top of the charts, and would later be nominated for a Grammy Award as Album of The Year.
While the check recipient and amount are written in a different hand, this check was not only signed, but possibly also dated by George, as the signature and date are both rendered in concise, bold blue ballpoint ink. With the usual bank cancellation marks, including a small red stroke to the last name, and two filing holes at the top.
